Winter Florals with Constance Rose

Winter Florals with Constance Rose

I started Constance Rose eight years ago when we moved to our farm and started growing florals and foliage to use for our events and weddings. We have been the main wedding florist for Holkham Hall for the last four years and when a studio became available in Burnham Market we took the opportunity to have a base closer to Holkham and our North Norfolk clients.

Our main ethos in the studio is to bring our home grown florals and foliage up to the studio to use in our designs and to deliver fresh, natural and different florals to our customers in North Norfolk.

November and December is an extremely busy time of year for us, as we gather foliage from the farm and start to use our stocks of seed heads and florals that we have dried throughout late summer and autumn. We then fill the diary with dates to dress clients homes for the festive season such as mantelpieces, doors, hallways and take one more item off the busy hosts ‘to do list’.

We love to use florals such as anemone, ranunculus and wax flower to add a lighter floral touch to the foliage. We use delicate bud vases on mantles and foliage garlands which will have the longevity to last the season.

Our door wreaths are always in demand and we use feathers, dried seed heads, florals and coordinate the hanging velvet ribbon to the colour tone of the door.

For 2020 things are looking a little different. You can order florals for collection on a Friday and we are also delivering throughout Norfolk. A new service we were looking forward to start for this year is we will come to your home and dress your door in situ with a wreath to the exact size and coordinated to the paint colour and surrounding vista, we are hoping we will be able to do this again during December depending on lockdown.

The girls work incredibly hard in the lead up to Christmas as we all have hands that look like something from a horror film by the end of making so many wreaths, but it is such a happy time in the workroom and we are always made to feel so welcome in peoples homes when we dress them.

I will be at home for Christmas this year with my husband and three boys and we may just have some little black lab puppies to keep us busy over the festive time.. we are just waiting to see what Connie produces!
