Ford House is a beautiful Flint property in Docking offering relaxed accommodation in a village setting close to the North Norfolk coast. Amanda, the owner has always been so supportive since day one of Marshes & Flint So I was thrilled when she wanted to share a few of her home styling tips for Christmas. 

"Styling the cottage at the beginning of December for our busy Christmas period is something I look forward to every year. Sheepskins, fairy lights, a vintage sledge and Neptune faux tree have made an appearance every year since I started sharing our beautiful cottage with guests. 

A well stocked log basket, a woodburner prepared and ready to light and flickering candles dotted around the cottage, make our guests feel at home during their stay over the festive period. I love styling a couple of the mantlepieces with foraged flora and fauna from the garden and dotting potted hyacinth around the house. 

Christmas at home is all about a simple day with the whole family mucking in. Now our four children are getting older ( 22yr to 13yr ) we have them all involved in the preparing and cooking of the Christmas meal. The table is set and the woodburner lit, we always start our meal at 4pm when it starts to get dark and the candles flicker".
